A randomized controlled trial testing the efficacy of vorvida, our intervention for adults trying to reduce excessive alcohol consumption, has recently been completed. Data are currently being analysed and results are expected to be available in early 2017. The study is directed by researchers at the Institute for Medical Psychology, University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf. Risky and harmful drinking is notoriously difficult to treat because of ambivalent change motivation in many drinkers. With a sample size of N=635 participants, this is one of the largest trials conducted in this field.
